Planting a dream

In 2013, Señorita Mónica left El Salvador leaving her family and friends, in order to venture into the world, and fulfill her dreams. She recently graduated as a teacher, and her greatest wish was to work in what she is most passionate about: teaching.

It was not until the summer of 2017 that an incredible school in San Francisco, California gave her the opportunity to fulfill that dream. Señorita Mónica’s heart quickly fell in love with her students, with the families who made her feel at home, and above all with the beautiful Spanish Infusion program that allowed her to teach her native language of the beautiful cultures of the Hispanic countries.

Unfortunately, the school that gave life to Señorita Mónica’s dream closed its doors the summer of 2020. Although the news brought a lot of sadness, it also ignited Mónica’s heart and a new dream. The dream of keeping the Spanish Infusion program alive in a new way, through the creation of “Semillitas Daycare”.

Our Services

Hours: Monday to Friday from 08:00 am to 04:00 pm (Closed on weekends)

Semillitas provides childcare service for infants and children from 0 – 5 years old, taking into account the life stage of each child.

Our services include:

Nutritious meals and snacks
Potty training
Walks to nearby parks
Parent-teacher conferences
Etc.

Little Seeds - From 0 to 1 year and 11 months old

At these ages we focus on supporting your child to explore the world through sensory and motor activities that stimulate their development.

Sprouts - From 2 to 3 years and 11 months old

At this stage our little ones begin to flourish and live new adventures. Our teachers are in charge of developing and strengthening their new movements with physical activities.

Oak Trees - 4 to 5 years old

At these ages we support our children to grow strong with solid roots through activities that stimulate their language, creativity, and problem-solving skills.

High Quality Daycare

Our program is developed in the teaching of values, and the Spanish language. Values program: Children will learn one or two values with collaborative learning through stories, music, arts and crafts, sensory games and outdoor. Every two months there will be one or two focus values.

Spanish Infusion Program:

The Spanish Infusion program is 100% English exposure and 100% Spanish. Our method focuses not only on the learning acquisition of a second language, but also in the strengthening of the native language of the children.

50% of our staff is native Spanish-speaking, which allows the children to be surrounded by both languages and cultures. This differentiate our program from other Spanish programs.

Our program includes learning experiences with Spanish songs from different Spanish speaking countries, children’s books in both languages, and cultural activities for the gradual and natural acquisition of the language.

Our Philosophy

Our main value is unconditional love, it is the kind of love that every child needs to receive from their parents and from the adults close to him/her, that is why each person in our organization demonstrates it.

The basis of this love is found in the texts of a book, the Bible. However, we do not teach religion. Love is our core value because when it grows it is reflected in the development of each area of our children.
